I'm not so sure the Fort Benning thing is played out yet. They're in GA somewhere between Atlanta and Benning... and the military choppers have to be coming from somewhere. I'm willing to bet Fort Benning is still shadowed in the plot.

When they were looking at a map to decide where to drop off Randall, Rick mentioned they were just a few miles from Senoia. Senoia is about 35 miles south of the Atlanta airport, a long ways from Benning.
Ironically, Senoia is the town they converted to Woodbury for filming. But there isn't a prison around there for miles.
Two and half more months to wait for the premier.

Lets hope it was a small(er) one, and that the injuries are not at all serious.
If someone sees a follow up story, please post it. I'm off to google this accident.

Walking dead Season 3 previews
The S3 previews when they are running through the Prison shows Lori with a huge belly. I'm thinking they dont reach the prison for a few weeks.

Didn't notice that, good eye. I figured at least a week or two passed between leaving the farm and getting in the prison (they must have spent a little time looking for the guns they have). Plus a few days to plan breaking into the place...but now I'm thinking it's as long as one, maybe two months between farm and prison. Which means Andrea and Michonne are at Woodbury for a while.
I think it was said somewhere that Merle is with the Woodbury crew...I have a feeling it was him that found Andrea in the woods (that hug line at the end of the trailer).

So, season 2 ends with them being in walking distance to the prison, and now all of a sudden Lori is 8-9 months pregnant, and they're just now finding the prison?
Why is the blonde chick sick?
The animated muzzle blast is fricking ridiculous. I don't remember it being that crappy in the last seasons.

I'm thinking the other black guy from the first episode will show up with his son. That dude is a great actor. (He was in Jericho among other shows)

Hopefully they'll mention how much time has passed since finale to premier...at first I thought maybe the girl that plays Lori really is pregnant, but can't find anything on that.
The only other possibility I can think of is they want to deal with the baby stuff by end of mid-season finale to get to the good stuff after that and her only being a few months would just not make that possible. So they rushed her pregnancy a few months.

I think you guys are over thinking this. Since they shoot the series in Georgia from May thru October, it's hard to shoot winter scenes when summer is in full bloom. Could you imagine the costs involved to CGI all the background and grass to simulate winter?

it's looking like this new season is going to make up for the slow roll of last season.

Machineguns would be useless. You need rifles and you need to aim for the head. The advantage of M-16/AR-15 is light weight ammo, you can carry alot of it. Selector switch must stay on semi-auto though I can imagine that those who insist on such weapons will always choose burst or full-auto.
The crossbow makes alot of sense. One can take game without making noise. One can dispatch the walkers without alerting others.
