Four-wheeler accident...
My step-grandson Edward (if I've got that nomenclature right) just had a four-wheeler accident requiring him to be life-flighted to our area trama hospital. Please pray for him.

whoa.
Is it a L1 or L2 trauma care center? Hopefully L1 (docs and trauma nurse/staff are on duty 24x7 IIRC).
Will keep in my thoughts.

It is whatever the top level trama center is. Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. I've not heard anything since my initial post, and I don't know whether he was wearing a helmet. We are an hour plus away from the hospital, but my daughter who works in Nashville was going there after she got off work at 7:00. Have been hoping to hear from her but no word yet.

News...
Edward is back from CT and is talking normally. Waiting on the results of the scan now. Probably will keep him tonight for the head trauma. Not sure about the hip yet.

That sounds like a good first report given the circumstances. Nothing but the best from here on out.

As a dirt bike rider at 46 yo, I wish him well. Quads are very dangerous! but that's another topic for another day. Hope he's better soon.

No worse than ankle breakers (dirt bikes)
Best wishes for a fast recovery.
He was wearing a helmet I hope?
Being that they're legal to drive on most of the non main roads where I live, we have several ATV vs car collisions a year. And the majority of fools I see aren't wearing helmets either.

That's really good news. Prayers sent that it gets even better.

Prayers that he does well. I have flown more ATV accident victims than I care to count.

Later news...
Edward has a tiny beeld on the brain but the neurosurgeon says he doesn't think it will amount to much. No bone fractures. Keeping him overnight in ICU. Probably will go home tomorrow.
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.

Prayers sent and best wishes.
My grandson has ridden one on the farm around my place, and I'me on edge to whole while he's been on it. It scares me nearly to death.
Which reminds me……even though I just have a utility ATV for pushing a little snow or taking a little trek now and then, even though I crawl around here like an old man, I need to put on a melon bucket myself.
Goose…..gander. Guilty as charged.
Everyone, if you're on it, you're riding. Put on a helmet!
