New Glock/Gun owner from Winder, GA
Greetings all. Not only am I a new Glock 19 Gen 4 owner, at 50 years old I am a new gun owner! So excited to have found -- and joined -- Glock Talk. I look forward to learning as much as I can from all of you experts! My first couple of questions are: I just took delivery of my gun on Wednesday and have not yet fired it. Do I need to clean it before its first firing? How often should I clean it (I assume after each firing). And can anyone recommend a reliable and safe range ammo that's sold in bulk? Thanks for any help and like I said, looking forward to making some new friends!

Yes, you need to at least clean the barrel before you fire it.
Get a cleaning kit and a can of Breakfree CLP and a bag of cloth patches. You can get it from Walmart.
