Not trying to start an arguement in any way. It's just that you stated the gun was unloaded as if you would be berated for taking a drink with a loaded gun and you may have been, just not by me.
I'm speaking in general not to you personally when I say it is something to consider when drinking. What if something does happen and you are forced to defend yourself. How would the police react to the smell of alcohol? I have been in a situation before where they assumed I was the guilty party because I had been drinking.(no guns involved)

I look at it this way, if you go out shooting and are drinking you have just made a decision that could very well be your last or the demise of another. Now sitting around at the house or having some drinks while armed is all good if you know your limits, but with a lot of people not knowing how to control themselves after ingesting alcohol, I understand some of laws enacted. Now in case of self defense it's gonna come down to the evidence the jurry sees if your not stumbling around and reeking of alcohol, then it will never make it into a cops report.
It all comes down to drinking responsibly, and really how effective do you think you are gonna be against an attack I your life if your wasted

Makers Mark is a great Bourbon, We did the tour last week. The distillery is clean all the time. A good friend of ours was the Master distiller, there before he retired. Loretta is a real nice place.
