G26 ccw
I love my G23, but just picked up a Gen 4 G26 for CCW. A lot of people on this forum convinced me that the 9mm was more than viable as a SD round. I am not sure which I shoot better. 23 or 26. Both of my SD rounds are at 390 to 400 ft lbs of energy. That's 180 gr HST's and Speer 124 +P gold dots. Not sure if my follow up shots for the nine are any quicker than the .40. I'll have to shoot both some more to determine. The 26 conceals a lot better than the 23 though. One extra round. My holster works for both guns. Galco leather thumbbreak. This 26 is definitely my favorite gun at the moment. I am waiting for some more gold dots coming from UPS. Only shot 25 rounds so far. I want to run another 150 gold dots through it just to break the gun in and become confident with the carry load. Thanks.

9mm with 124g +p Gold Dots you'll be fine.

G21MAN,
I think you hit the nail on the head right here... "The 26 conceals a lot better than the 23 though." If you shoot them just about the same, than carry the G26.
I carry the G26 with a crossbread holster, been just about everywhere and no one is the wiser and that is the way it should be. I like the 124g bullet for the 9mm above all other weights (my personal choice). 124g +P GD is more than enough to keep you and you family safe.
You are doing the right thing - the most important thing is to pratice with your CCW don't just polish it and carry it.
Good choice... have fun & be safe

Well then you have the ability to cover a lot of situations. Carry the G-26 most of the time (as I assume you will) and you'll also have the G-23's ability to convert to .357sig with just a G-32 barrel.
Between those three calibers you have a wide range of self-defense options against two- and four-legged critters.

I am really not a GLock fan, but I do like my G26. It's just not that much smaller than a G19 though, especially if yo uadd a grip ext for your pinky.

I've known people to buy a 4" Glock 19 or 23 barrel for a Glock 26 or 27 and carry it that way. Only sticks out 1/2" more but you get full-sized ballistics.
But yeah, I'm with ya. The 19 just feels right in my hand and it's not much bigger.

I just did the exact same thing. I figured the 26 would be a little lighter and easier to conceal in summer clothes. I was amazed how well I could shoot the small frame. I tried my brother-in-laws Gen3 27 next to his Gen3 26 and decided I had faster follow up shots with the 26. I'm sure the 27 would work just as well with some practice but I went with the Gen4 26.
So far I have over 1000 rounds through it without the first malfunction. I can honestly say it is more reliable than my Gen4 23 was when it was new.
Congratulations on your new gun!

I carry a G26 in an MTAC holster. I use a 10 round magazine with GAP floorplates. A G19 magazine is carried as a spare It is loaded with HST 147gr + p.
To me, the G26 carries a lot easier than a G19.

I agree. The shorter grip doesn't stick out the back of my shirt, and I can sit down easier.

I'm with JeepX and G21MAN above; it took me awhile to get used to the short grip on the G26 as compared to the G19, but after a few trips to the range, I am comfortable and confident with the 26. For me, at 5'10" and 205 with a 36 waist, the 26 conceals and carries much easier than my 19. I quite often have the 26 on me, loaded with the 124 gr Gold Dots but I do find it a little too builky for a pocket; so when that's called for, I go with a Smith Airweight J frame. When I want to carry a little bigger pistola, I actually prefer the bad*** G36 over pretty much anything else. I can just shoot the daylights out with my Glocks, and like many, (most really?) the only real problems I've had in the 17 years that I've been a Glock guy has been running out of ammo!
