I'll be sure to pass that one along!

Portable DVD players are the best thing invented for long car rides with kids. The only downfall is having two kids fighting over which DVD to watch next.

Beautiful pictures. Since the grass is still green they must not have been taken in Texas.

Well, ran into every bit of stupid traffic possible on may way in to work, and rolled in on a flat tire into a bit of a mess at work. Oh fun.

So dang hot here... took the bike for a quick ride to the dealer, came back, I have a seriously dark farmer's tan as if I worked outdoors for years.

With the girls as long as it is something Disney they tend to agree. That part of Michigan is still getting rain, it rained some point every day we were there. I will post more pics when we go up there in the fall.

Finished up phase 1 of FTO Thursday! I'm rotating to nights and starting phase 2 Monday evening. Definitely a lot more structure in this department's FTO program than my previous one's.

Where were those pics taken? They look a little familiar, but I can't place it..

Probably just similar looking..

What a freakin' night. I get caught in traffic the whole way in to work, almost making me late. As I'm about to pull in to the parking lot, the low tire pressure light comes on. I make it into the parking spot and check it, the tire is completely flat. No time to mess with it; I have to make it in to the facility. I get there, and I get left a bit of a mess from the previous shift to deal with, and I'm catching up all the way until about 2030 or so, when I get a call from the operations lieutenant. I got pulled off the unit to go run on an emergency medical trip. Get relieved at the hospital about 0045 or so, as the officer relieving me was working overtime and had to get relieved himself (he had a late relief), and drive to the hospital. By the time I get back, turn everything in, and am ready to leave, it's 0115. I try fix-a-flat on the tire; no dice. So I figure it might work better if I can get the tire inflated, so I try to limp it to the gas station down the road on the flat (I have a doughnut tire, but no jack and no wrench in with it, I find out when I go to get it). I get almost to the gas station, and the whole tire comes apart. Great, now I'm out of the parking lot and on the side of a main road. It's 0130 at this point. I call AAA, only to find out my membership expired, and I forgot to renew it. Great. So I then call my parents (an hour away from work, in the same city I live in), and they roll out (they have the big platinum AAA membership, with 200 mile tow). They get there a little after 0300, as some idiot took out a power pole in the neighborhood, so they have to get through a bunch of traffic and detours. We start calling AAA at this point on their card. There is not a wrecker service in town that has a flatbed available (passenger side rear tire was the one that blew; can't use a regular wrecker or it'd be rolling on the rim), so they have to call one in another town (30 miles or so away). By the time this all takes place, and they get the guy woken up and on his way, it's 0500. By the time he gets to us and we get on the road, it's almost 0600, and 0730 before we get back to my parents' house (they have a jack and such, so I can get the dummy tire on, and I need sleep bad at this point). Needless to say, there's no way I'm making it in to work at 1600 today, lol.

I get a few hours sleep after I called in to work, and get up and get the doughnut on (another adventure; it requires a socket wrench to remove the spare tire. Who comes up with this garbage?), and roll it up to the tire shop around 1430, with my stepdad following in case something happens with that. While changing the tire, I noticed the front passenger side tire is beat to hell, too, and all of them are have lower tread than I thought, so new tires all around. $761 later, I'm now waiting on them to call me when the car is done, and waiting on pizza to get here.

I have a feeling I'm having my quarterly drink, or two, or three tonight.

Yeah, but I got the 100,000 mile rated Hankooks, with road hazard and free nitrogen fill, so they better last a while. It doesn't help that I've driven almost 40,000 miles in it since I bought it last August. Yep, 40,000 miles in less than a year.
