Some of them do get a little rowdy, LOL. Then there are some of the military kids. Heck, we used to have some bang up parties here from time to time. We have our own bar at the training center that is occasionally used. Then there are a couple of local watering holes that cater to us, and the retirees.

Went to a nice steakhouse out there. Forgot the name, but it was a big restaurant, five stars, they claimed. Fancy.

Yeah, steak and barbecue are real big attractions here, and in KC area. We usually go to Arthur Bryants. They opened up a place in Kansas City, KS near Bonner Springs, and close to the new NASCAR track. The original is close to 18th and Vine, home of Kansas City jazz.

Head cheese used to be kind of popular when I was growing up, to which we owe to German influences where I am from. Souse for that matter was another one. Leben kase, (liver cheese), was another big one.

As for gizzards and livers, I have a recipe that will set those to being tasty. Sauteed with onions, salt, pepper, and a little honey. Goes real good with potatoes or grits; and of course rice. Either cole slaw, or for colder weather maybe some greens of some type. Yummy!
Now that's funny you know Leberkäse because it's more Austrian than German. Most Germans call it Fleischkäse, except the Bavarians from what I know

That's like going to a Mexican restaurant and ordering a chicken fried steak or a hamburger. Which I always thought was strange but have never done.

I hate taking a girl out to a steakhouse and they order fish or chicken. Then you go to a seafood joint, they order a burger. Then a sushi place, they order cooked salmon teriyaki... I give up.

OK - this thread is just mean. I'm trying to watch what I eat and drop a few pounds - this is like punishment.

So, we had a birthday dinner for my uncle the other night... We had duck, lobster, shrimp, crab, fish, scallops, beef, pork, French silk pie, chocolate mousse cake, tapioca pudding, and some other stuff... I forgot all the food but the twelve of us couldn't finish half of it.

I do have your holster, jolly ranchers, and beef jerky. Gladly trade them for more of those awesome euro tactical police tee shirts.

I know I am officially old.

The wings are the first thing that caught and kept my attention.

Don't you worry.

There will be a time soon when you realize that a home cooked meal means more than 5 minutes of pleasure and a weekend full of listening to kvetching and dealing with princess polishing.

You'll learn.

Negative, kimosabe!

I'm on a perpetual diet so food means very little to me. As a matter of fact, the less food i see, the better.

And 5 minutes includes the small talk, undressing, and redressing afterwards too.

The 5 minutes is the easy part.

Listening to and dealing with all the rest of the time spent with her is the interminable part.
