Sort of... a strategic dance of death executed by tacticians.
Then again, realize that this is the competition sport version of Savate cane combat. In real life applications, where Savate originally was conceived as a street combat system designed to ward off the violent thugs that preyed late 19th Century French streets, Savate cane combat can be quite deadly and you will see knockouts when a Savateur cracks a solid wood cane on the head of a ruffian.

So I worked 8 days in a row. I get one day off, then back to work. On my one day off, the Sgt had the balls to ask me if I could come in to cover a shift. There was real danger of him being choked through the phone.
5 days on the range last week (all but one over 100*), one day off, patrol shift, three days at the range this week. I'm so sick of firearms and ammo and qual courses and magazines and everything related that I think I want to take up golf as a profession. Think it's too late?

You're actually too young to take up golf as a profession. Why don't you spend a few years watching paint dry and then you will be prepared for all the excitement of golf.

Good call. My wife likes to repaint rooms on occasion. I can be the paint-dryer-watcher-dude.

Paint and sundries curing observer is the proper title, and there is an app for that.

spent my weekend moving furniture for my wife, just for her to tell me that she liked it the way it was to begin with. I need an easier way to get laid!

Last day of day shift before rotation to nights. Looks like I'm going to be staying on the shift I'm on now, so it's night until January.

I love nights where I am at. Let the younguns have evenings, and the attention getters have days.

Dang it! Went by my local Class 3/NFA dealer, and handled some SBRs. I'm hooked; that's what I'm after as soon as I can get up the money. Just debating between a 9mm AR like I use at work, or a 5.56mm.........

How much money to maintain after purchase, and legalities?
I suppose I got over my love affair with full automatic a good long time ago, but I would not mind some C&R stuff one of these years; if retirement allows it.

the days off between nightshifts really sucks.
You can't go nowhere because everything is closed. You can't meet with no people because they're sleeping.
I can't even do anything in my house, GF working daytime so I have to be quiet.
all I can do is sitting in the dark, watching crappy tv shows and surfing the internet.
Should I drive to the PD and talk to some people?

I usually switch my time off schedule to being up during the day, except for a nap. The only exception is if I am bone tired and need a days sleep to catch up. That way I am up with the family, doing the regular day time activities.

I slept most of the daytime over the weekend and stayed up at night.
I don't want to break the nightshift rhythm.

I know folks who do that, but not many. Most of us where I work just adjust and keep on going. I think for a lot of us it comes from having worked odd times of day in the military, and then going home to our families; for those of us who had those to go home to.

No licenses to maintain after the purchase; just the $200 tax stamp when you do the Form 4 to transfer it. It's not full-auto by any means; just a semi-auto with a short barrel. I handled a CMMG Mk-9 9mm SBR, and liked it a lot. 8.5" bbl and a free-floated rail handguard.
http://www.cmmginc.com/product_p/90a3b50.htm
Not for sure about their QC, though. I'm also thinking about the Daniel Defense Special Services Package (only sold to LE) if I do the 5.56mm route:
https://danieldefense.com/daniel-def...s-package.html
That's a package that includes an Aimpoint PRO, DD rail, sling, 3 PMAGs, etc. I know the regular patrol rifle package runs around $1450 locally, though I haven't been able to get a price on this package yet.

Eventually I would like to get a Stoner platform rifle. Not in a real hurry to get one I guess. Sometimes I wish I could get the select fire with three round burst like what is used in the rifle now a days. I don't really care for full auto as it promotes wasting ammunition, when a a few trigger pulls will do the job just fine, after using a grenade or two for softening purposes.
Right now, I would like a new, or new condition SVD, but it's going to take a while for me to afford a new one. Too many other responsibilities for the time being.

Yeah, I have some other stuff to pay off/pay down first, but I'm thinking maybe tax time next year or something. I'm leaning heavily towards the 9mm one, though; probably pick up a Glock 17 to supplement/replace my G23 as my carry piece, and only really have to stock 9mm after that!

Right now I am keeping the Glock 17, as I like it, and the ammo is cheaper.
I still have my safe queen, and still have my Mosin Nagant for the bear rifle.

Old revolver. I don't shoot it that much at all. Just take it out every great once in a while and clean it up.
