That's one way to take it. Amarillo simply means yellow, so ...

That's exactly what I was trying to say... it happens a lot.

I may or may not resemble that remark myself!

Yeah, add a 35# pack (doesn't sound like much until you're hauling it over multiple ascents/decents) and I'm beat. Worst part is the 12-14 yr old boys didn't seem too bothered by it. My son got home and wanted to play night games in the neighborhood with his friends.

Yeah, I've done backpacking in the Smokies before, as a teenager, and that still kicked my ass! I'd love to do it again, but I don't know how well my knees would hold up. I guess there's really only one way to find out, though.

Thanks Hack!

I was very flattered when my Lt. told me he was requesting I be assigned to his shift. Means a lot to me that my coworkers and commanders think that much of me.

Haha, do it! Or come out to UT and I'll show you some places that will test your mettle (I'll point them out on a map then meet you after and you can tell me how it was )

I got home and mentioned to my wife that my hips were stiff and sore. She said "You know you're old when you start complaining about your hips hurting!!"

Maybe next spring, if I can actually have the money to do something on vacation. I've been wanting to get back to the Smokies, or maybe check out someplace new.

Well, irradiation done. The hardest part was nothing to eat or even drink other than the small bit of scrambled eggs and half cup of water they gave you (did I mention it was a four-hour deal?). The combination dropped my blood sugar a little too much and sent me into a migraine by the afternoon, even after I ate something else. Finally over that, though, after taking meds, sleeping, and eating a little more.

Well, all the required documents are now uploaded to CBP. Now the waiting and working out begins, lol.

No sausage or grits? I would definitely fail that test.

Yeah, I was so hungry I was sick by the end of it. It ended up kicking off a migraine; not cool!

Medicine. Nothing like those fun sessions of being invasive.

Umm garlicky or oniony cheese grits. Sounds good. And, a little beef sausage to go along with it.
