How to Field Strip/Reassemble an AK-47 (HD Video)

I had a hard time trying to find a HD video on field stripping the AK-47 that was clear, easy to understand, well lit and well explained. So...here is my contribution, FWIW:

Be sure to include the 10 minutes of footage where a tiny spring flies across the room or a pin gets dropped in the carpet and the ensuing search for each.

Sorry, I try to keep my YouTube channel family friendly....language G rated!

Seriously, that's a very good point actually, I learned the hard way to keep all the little bitty bits in a single container, so they do not roll off on to the floor or fly across the room, etc.

So far, I've been pretty luck. I did however launch a firing pin spring from a new 1911 across my backyard a while back. It's still out there.

That's a good video. Good quality and info.

Do one on the disassembly of the AK bolt. That's the one that drives me nuts. Talk about little springs.

Thanks, I'll consider that. But does anyone detail strip an AK bolt?

I do when I go over a few thousand rounds. Especially if shooting Golden Tiger (which I love). The coating does seem to get under the extractor (the part you can't just scrape). Does it make a difference? Probably not but it makes me happy

I hear you, bro. Something therapeutic about cleaning guns.

That has got to be second-echelon. I didn't see any rocks being used.

Don't need a container. Just flip the AR charging handle upside down and put all of the bits into the recessed area.

Classic example of a crappy YouTube video.

Bad lighting.
Bad camera angle.
Bad narration.
No HD.

Yup, I might make a better video.

If somebody can convince me detail stripping an AK bolt is actually worth it, if it is only a fun range gun.
