Bid on some more Ontario Rat 1s. I cannot stress how well this knives meet the need for an inexpensive, large pocket folder. I do put them in Benchmade large bidirectional sheaths.

If a person is not going for bragging rights, he evaluates knives for application and cost/benefit.
I want some inexpensive, time proven, durable fixed blades. I have the Moras and Marttiinis. I have bid on a couple more Marttiinis although they run about $30 - $35 and about double the price of a Mora. These aren't bayonets or designed for hand-to-hand combat with bears. Decent, light weight camp knives capable of doing simple tasks.
I want some more folders. I chose to bid on more Ontario Rat 1s. I put them in Raine or Benchmade cordura bidirectional pouches. They are too big for EDC. However, they are tough and will withstand years of abuse. About $30 delivered. The sheaths run about $10 more.
Yes, you can spend a small fortune on a better knife. Conversely, if you want to put a knife in a car, a pack, a jacket, a hide, the BOL or with a relative and run the risk of losing it, you will spend a lot less. Yes, I had a national tire chain mechanic steal a knife from my car and my car has been burglarized and items taken. Nothing of any great cost and it has been a matter of taking a couple of extra knives and putting them into the car.

A friend of mine has a SOG tanto trident that he REALLY likes. It's easy to sharpen and quick to deploy.
