Boom!
My batch of goodies arrived today......MagPul SGA 870 Stock, and my KX4 LED Head for the SureFire 618FA Forend that came on the Remington 870P MAX from the factory.
Installation takes literally 3 min, and comes with all accessories needed to adjust LOP, and spacers for LOP. LOP out of the box is 12.5" and feels GREAT!
Based on the few hours of fondling this stock, I think this is something MagPul REALLY hit a homerun with. The buttpad is nice and cushy, and the spacers that come with it can allow you 12.5 to 15" LOP. Installation is REALLY easy. One bolt, and the way they hide it is ingenious. No more having to deal with taking your buttpad off to remove the stock.
Under this little rubber cover, is the screw to connect the stock to the weapon. Too easy to take off.........literally takes a minute or two....

Looks great man! Just got the forend today (pics in the thread titled "MOE Forend").. I haven't gotten to play with the stock, and while I don't plan on getting one (Mesa Urbino for me), I do agree, it seems they hit the nail on the head. It LOOKS like with the pistol grip/cheek riser combo, you can use a 12.5" LOP, and NOT have issues with your thumb smacking your nose (which is the biggest reason I decided to go for the Urbino). Is that the case?

It does seem like it. I'll have to get some hands-on with it tonight. I don't foresee it being an issue though.

They first rolled it out for the 870 but they have dropped numerous hints about a Mossberg version but haven't mentioned when.

When I first seen the pics of this setup from SHOT I wondered what improvements would it make to what is already available for the 870. I thought it looked kinda awkward. Then I started to look at the pics more and more and this stock has grown on me. I really like it. Looks like the angle of the grip would give the shooter much more control than the standard 870 stock. Then again there's only about 5 million of 'em out there that are working pretty darn well....so what do I know about it?
Those 870 from the OP really looks good with all the goodies and the stock. Are you going to put the forend on it as well?
You just know they are going to come out with a Mossy version. Why not cater to the other half that's out there?
Thanks for the pics.

Well, I have Speedfeed on my 500 right now, and it seems like you have to have gorilla arms to reach the forend. I had the Hogue short LOP for a while, but like it was said, I kept punching myself in the nose or the eye every time I pulled the trigger. If this solves that problem then it will be the stock for me. At any rate I like the idea of the adjustable LOP anyway, in a more "standard" style of stock than the M4 collapsable stocks that are out there, which means you can still work that Mossberg safety that I love so much.
