I'd have to go with keeping the one gun that does the toughest job well, then try an adapt it to all other jobs. For me, the toughest job is easily EDC. As such, I'd probably go with the G26 as the best compromise going between conceal-ability and capacity.

Wow, what an impossible question. I love all my handguns for one reason or another. Maybe why I cannot bring myself to ever sell a gun. They all have individual strengths and weaknesses. But if I have to bug out fast and could only grab one, it would probably be my old G17gen2. Has thousands of rounds through it, smooth, reliable, and an easy to find small caliber.

I guess it'd be my 4 inch S&W model 29. With birdshot, it's
a good snake and at close range, small game getter. With .44
Specials it's a great home defense weapon. With .44 magnum
loads, I can take almost any big game in North America. The
4 inch conceals IWB or in a shoulder holster.
The "only one gun" senario suggests a total loss of rights and
maybe socio-economic collapse. For that, I would want my
one gun to be something totally reliable, concealable and
able to take on many roles. A 4 inch S&W model 29 fits the
bill.

Easy - one of my 9mm CZ 75's. The hard part is deciding which one - the bright stainless factory DA/SA? The matte stainless converted to SAO with the 2 1/2 lb. pull? The factory Polycoat SAO?

And I'd sure miss my 9mm Rami SAO.

The Glock G23. Possibly the best all-round defensive pistol made. I love the 45, but going into an unknown situation, I would go with more bullets in the gun. Cheers.

If i could keep only one, it would be this baby:

Attachment 225532

I shoot this pistol better than any other pistol I have ever shot. 6 big, lumbering rounds of .45 Colt, and nothing says Pistol Whip like an N-Frame revolver.

Sure you can. Pick one today.

Pretty soon, there will be another poster along posing the very same question. Then you can pick a different one.

And so on, and so on,.......

I was gonna pick my RTF2 G19, but with all this record heat wave we've been getting, I fear it might melt. So, I'll pick my Sig P228.
