I once lost three $20 bills out of my left, front pants pocket.

Later on I lost another $20 bill out of my left, front pants pocket.

I now carry no more money in my left, front pants pocket than I am prepared to lose.

This $80 isn't even a drop in the bucket compared to the money that I have wasted, blown, and foolishly spent on things and good times that are now long gone.

Ah, a kindred spirit in an over-technologized world.

I lost $150 when I was about 12. I was a stock jockey back then. I was going to buy 100 shares of LTV Steel at $1.50 in bankruptcy hoping that it'd pop.

My uncle listened to my pitch over Christmas dinner and told me he wanted in for 100 shares as well.

The next week, he dropped the $ off and my mother put it on my messy bureau.

The NEXT week, I cleaned my bureau and threw away the envelope. THEN my mother told me that the $ was in there. I called Uncle Steve and asked if he could re-write the check.

"Check? There were 3 $50's in there."

"Nevermind. I'll find it."

I didn't. I had to pony up the whole $300 myself - at 12 yrs old - IN 1983 - which was a lot of money.

(Yeah, I had well more than $300 at the time. But it hurt. Hurt more a year later when the stock went from 1.50-3. I didn't sell. I DIDN'T SELL. And it went to zero. :( )

Found $40 lying in the aisle at walmart a few months back.
No ID, no receipt or anything else.

Last time I lost any money. -- 1972. I was 5 years old and had $6 in a wallet I had just received for my birthday. Lost the wallet somewhere right outside the front of the house within a day or two of getting. I was very upset. $6 was a lot of money for a 5 year old in 72'.

That did teach me to hold onto my wallet
