The college is not allowed to ban firearms on campus.
That means they cannot ban firearms in the dorms, any dorms.
Where does it say a student must admit to or tell the truth about having a firearm.

I'm guessing the "only in this dorm" will go the way of free speech zones campuses used to have.

I wonder, if students without a concealed license apply to the CC dorms, will they be allowed there? If for some reason I was not able to obtain my license, that would be the dorm I would want to be in.

Good. College students are ADULTS. I should know, I am one, and I'm 33 years old. To treat them like children (by disallowing them to possess firearms on school property) is just stupid in itself. Plus where I go to school, is surrounded by some of the worst neighborhoods in the entire state of Texas, and honestly, I don't like walking through those "hoods" to my car at night, especially unarmed.

The above could be the extreme interpretation of anti-gun dogma which appears so often in these internet comment sections. There is an old adage that says, "you reap what you sow". There is much truth to sayings such as this and that is why they are referred to as universal truths.

While I may not be so cold to say "Let the sheep get slaughtered", I would be of a mind to suggest that they, in fact, do reap what they sow when a nut opens fire and no one has something at hand with which to defend themselves and others. The anti's say "how many more deaths will it take before we ban these tools of death" (sounds like the Peter, Paul, and Mary song "Blowing in the Wind". But I say, "how many more deaths will it take before people wake up to reality and realize the futility of gun-free zones and disarming people really is".

Reading the comments just reaffirms that citing logic and facts to anti-gun folks is a waste of time. They're not listening.

To be fair, I'm not sure we are any different in our attitude. I do believe that we are armed with more facts and less emotion however.

But that's just it. We ARE different. Because we make our judgments based on facts...they make theirs based on their perception of things, which is based on emotions and inaccurate portrayals of gun owners in the media.

There is one HUGE difference between the two camps. We have he federal constitution and most all of the state constitutions on our side.

(not to mention the lessons of history)

I agree. We are. I was referring to us being similar in that when they are expressing their view, we are not really interested in seeing their side of it because, as are they, we are entrenched in our belief and therefore not really listening.

Wow. There's a lot of facepalm worthy comments on that article.

That one woman, Susan is a nutjob to the nth degree.

They keep acting like someone having a gun is automatically going to make them more violent. If they truly believe that people are going to shoot each other over heated discussions in class or shoot the teacher over a bad grade, then prior to this law, where are all the reports of other physical altercations with fists or other weapons?

It literally hurts trying to wrap my head around the mentality of some people.
