Barrel ballistics question

If you shoot a .357 magnum out of a 3 inch barrel, would the ballistics still be better then a 45 acp out of a 4 inch barrel?

great resource right here. most popular calibers are chronod from 2-18" barrels

As is most often the case it often depends on the individual load. they test some of the more popular defensive and +p loads as well.

It's kind of a apples to oranges comparison. If you are just talking about foot #s, the edge will go to the 357mag w/ full power loads. Go +p in the 4" 45 & it's pretty much a wash. And it all means pretty much nothing.
