Went to the Dark side with a XDm

Ok I bought/traded for and 4.5 OD green, stainless steal 9mm. This was my first XD I have owned or shot, I currently own 6 glocks and various other pistols.
It shot different than the glocks thus a different aim as with any different pistol. I can't say I liked or dis liked it. The trigger is light but soft, not crisp. Shooting it wasn't bad, I hit what i aimed at, but it just wasnt a Glock. I think I will keep it, but at the same time i don't think I am going to start buying XD's.
Oh and cleaning them are a pain compared to a glock. So many odd grooves etc.
If I didn't have any glocks I could be happy with it.

I can't say I shoot the Glocks better then the XD, funny thing, my Dad doesn't shoot much and he couldn't make a good group with my or his Glocks, but he picked up the XD and nailed it. It was like a supernatural event or something. I guess for some folks the grip angle makes a difference, it didn't make a difference for me. This also happened in reverse for a friend of mine, he couldn't make a good group with a XD, but rehit the same hole several times with a glock, go figure.

Congrats XDs are very good pistols. I find it has a very good natural pointability with it's 1911 grip angle. Like my glock but I'd like it more if it had a 1911 grip angle.

Generally I like the XD's.
What I didn't like on the one I had was that it was picky on the ammo (.357 SIG) and did not take any reloaded ammo.
Not even the commercial reloaded ammo you can buy.
Also the sight line is higher then on most other brands.

I agree the site line is higher, but since that was the last thing I shot I was able to adjust and do well with it.

I don't think that will be my problem. I am and was open minded when I shot it. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but it just wasn't the feel i love with a Glock. Like i said earlier, if I didn't own a glock and had several XD's, I might feel that way about the Glock. Again, not a bad gun, and I plan on keeping it.

One more thing, I am a clean freak, and it is a pain to clean compared to Glock.
