Kahr K9 sale!
For those that ever considered getting an all steel kahr, this is the deal for you. While they are police trade ins, this is still a great deal. I've never seen them this cheap at $419 and if I didn't already have an elite k9, I would be all over this deal.

They're the NYPD trade ins...K9 no longer authorized in the Department...a couple buddies of mine up there got in on the trade program...your K9 + $50.00 = NIB Glock 26 w/night sights...I sold my K9 before I left the Dept. to another NYPD officer, would be funny if the one I buy from AIM is my old gun!

Why did NYPD drop the Kahr?

As I understand it. NYPD spec'd a heavier trigger than Kahr normally came with. Kahr put in a heavier trigger return spring. After a few years of use, the spring lost some of its tension and the trigger became too light to meet NYPD specs. Apparently Kahr came back with an even heavier spring. It still could not maintain the weight after a few years of use.
Apparently, everyone liked the size of the Kahr, they ran fine, they just couldn't make the trigger crappy enough to meet NYPD specs.

Here's the article. Apparently 7 1/2 pounds is just too light for gun. 13 is the way to go.

The inherent design of the Kahr made it impossible to give the trigger a super heavy DAO pull that NYPD requires...they tried, but in the end nothing worked...nothing wrong with the guns, mine worked flawlessly...

K9s are great guns. I like mine. I like the MK9 better.

That makes sense. Wait, I've been exposed to police administration too long and the fact that the Kahr was too suitable to be suitable makes sense to me

The funny part is when you read the reason why it was dropped from NYPD, the trigger was too light in it caused accidental discharges
I guess their officers didn't have their finger on the trigger when there was a round in the chamber?
Jeff Cooper got gun safety down to four simple rules. Apparently not all NYPD people are smart enough to remember them.

I bought a K9 when they first came out. Loved the gun. Hated the trigger. Gunsmith said he couldn't do anything about the trigger. Bye-bye K9.

Its a nice looking gun, if I had some cash laying around, I'd be very tempted.
