Ruger SR1911 Accuracy

Accurate? If I can do this well, imagine how much better you can do.

Left side grip loosening up is common on 1911s. Remove, add some blue loctite to the screws, reinstall. Done.

good shooting. now get up off that rest and duplicate it standing unsupported, bring in those two fliers, then it will be great shooting. tough love, padawan learner.

1911 Forums

9 shots (8+1 full capacity) at 7 yds standing unsupported with my pro. slow fire.

most beat up rattly old gi 1911's will shoot groups like that pro at 7 yards- hell my beater 40 year old smith 36 snubby will. get that gun to 25 or 50 yards and shoot some groups- that is where the fit and finish of a quality 1911 will show what it is capable of!

My SR1911 holds consistent 1.6 inch groups at 25 yards from a Ransom Rest using Federal HST 230 grain (P45HST2).

Pretty impressive for a $700, off-the-rack 1911.

If others get that kind of accuracy I might have to add one.

You guys are starting to cost me, BAC 1023 "made" me buy a S&W 945 so Ruger more affordable.

From what I've seen on the web, my accuracy results with the SR1911 are pretty consistent with what many others have experienced.

It's a great pistol, especially for the price point.

Why do you release your grip after every shot? Might want to work on that!

I will just have to add one. Like you said for that price you can't go wrong.

Never trust someone who measures groups with his thumb.

i rarely shoot beyond 10yds with a pistol, mostly practical engagement distances of 7yds or less. i work on a smooth, quick draw and presentation, trigger press, and hits on target.

pic from a match last saturday, dressed in my SHIELD agent clothes. cheap suit though.

Good one, and I must admit I thought, "Wow, I never dress up like that at my gun club, that place must have some tough rules."

If I dressed up like that, I'd never hear the end of it at my club. I agree with your goal of a smooth, quick draw and presentation, trigger press and good hits on target.
