what use to only happened to your parents or their

Thank you everyone!

LW....our best friends, my college roommates husband has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. (Same illness that took my daddy's life in 3 1/2 weeks from diagnosis to death at the age of 62; and my husband's brother in less than 6 months from diagnosis to death...at the age of 49.)

They thought they caught this one early and that the prognosis would be good; but when they did surgery, they couldn't remove the pancreas, because it has already spread. They have given him 1 year to live.

BUT WE ARE STILL PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE FOR HIM!

We are going down to see them tomorrow for a couple of days!

Can't believe this is happening to someone else that we dearly love, (actually this is the fifth one...my adopted grandmother was also taken from us by pancreatic cancer, and my dad's half brother.)

So, we are praying that this one will be the miracle!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We have so much to be thankful for!

I was off all last week and it was a very busy week!

We spent a couple of days with our friends in South Florida.
He is very weak but otherwise seemed to be doing okay. He is very positive about the ultimate outcome of his illness, and is truly believing God for a miracle. However, he was admitted to the hospital Friday night for a fever and a cough.
IV antibiotics were started. Now he has no fever and no pneumonia was found. Blood cultures have been negative.
When I talked to them last night, the doctors said he would probably go home today, if nothing else surfaced.

Please continue to keep Steven in your prayers!

We came home and spent Thanksgiving with our children and my family (sisters and their families.) It was a wonderful time together. Mom will be down for Christmas.

We've enjoyed our northern neighbors that have returned south for the winter the remainder of the week and weekend.

Now, back to school for 3 weeks before the Christmas Break.

God is so good!

Have a healthy and happy Holiday Season!

Remember, Jesus is the reason for the Season!!

Thanks to you all!

He is going through Chemotherapy right now, and doing well.

We were going to go down and spend a long weekend with them last weekend, but my husband and I have both been ill and running fevers over the past week or two, so we didn't go....not wanting to get him sick and slow down his treatment since his immune system is low.

We were sad not to get to spend time with him, but when I spoke with his wife, she appreciated that we were thinking of his best concern by not coming. Hopefully we will be able to spend time with him again soon.

He has been riding his bike again....with his riding group and this lifts his spirit.

God is good, and we are trusting for a Miracle for our amazing friend, Steve!
