ignore the permd flashhider.. im not worried about that. I look at it like this if i choose that upper. i could always go with a centurian arms 12inch rail since it uses the OEM barrel nut

I'd go with upper #1 with a Troy instead of the MBUS. No pinned FH needed, and I prefer the DD rails over Troy.

I don't know that I'd choose 1 over 2. I guess it depends on barrel length & if you like one rail over the other.

I've used an Omega in the past, and wasn't a huge fan of how tall the rail felt, but I still prefer a full quad rail to a slick tube. Personally, I like the DD RIS II rail, followed by the DDM4, but I realize how expensive the RIS II rails are.

Most of the differences are just personal preferences, but there is one exception. I would go with the 14.5" and pinned hider. The extra 1.5" isn't a huge deal, but it looks a little better and feels a little better, and over time becomes a big deal to me. I would go with an AAC Blackout or Surefire flash hider though. They are some of the best flash hiders on the market, with the added advantage of being able to mount a suppressor if you ever decide to get into Class 3.

#1. i know you said ignore the permed FH in #2 but i am just not a fan. for me its either go with 16" or do the paperwork and build a real SBR. you really lock yourself into the current configuration when you put on a permed FH. you know this of course.
also i favor the DD rail over Troy. and it looks like you'll save around 75 bucks. another way you could save a little money is go with the standard FSP and a DD Omega 12 FSP rail. that way you dont have to buy a front flip down sight.
