870 problems

I own a Remington 870 and recently added some accessories to turn it into a 870p I also added the 6 round side saddle. Now when I load the magazine tube carrier will get stuck on the rear end of the shot shell, and does not move freely (like it should). The action will not reliably cycle.
I loosened the side saddle screws and I continued to have the same problem. I wonder if I assembled the trigger incorrectly or is the carrier bent. Anyone have any ideas? Any experience with this? Thanks!

Call me at 231-690-0954 and have the weapon broke down in front of you ready to reassemble. I am up late so tonight is fine.

I’m going to take the trigger group out and inspect it closely and see if I can find any problems tonight I also have a wilson combat +2 extension that I will inspect also. If it is a bent carrier that is not that expense to fix; but I’m not sure. I just took it out shooting for the first time since the mods this last weekend.

All fixed thanks to aippi

The hole problem was the Tacstar side saddle, my blackhawk stock would push the trigger group just far enough to make the carrier rub a shell. Never buy Tacstar anything they are POS.

By the way I will be sending all my friends to aippi for there shotgun needs.

It can also happen if screws are overtightened. When we were deployed to NO/Katrina, the armorer that prepped my shotgun was so overszealous, he had it pretty much locked up via overtightening.

I think the exception is the Tac Star side saddle. Simple and durable. My dept has been putting them on the issued 870's for many years and they hold up well and get recycled onto the new guns.

the Tac star is what the problem was, the screws were out of speck and letting the trigger group move forward.

Never had a problem with the tac star side saddle. That being said I am a much bigger fan of the Velcro panels

Sent from my iPhone... which probably auto-corrected something wrong
