$25 Amex Credit 11/24

American Express, to promote small business, is giving a $25 credit if you have a single transaction of $25 or more at participating small businesses this saturday.

I did this last year.

Too bad most businesses don't except it because of their rates.

Thanks for the link. It looks like free dinner and a beer or two for me this Saturday at the local brew pub.

ETA - It looks like my gun shop is a qualifying business. Beer or ammo...

I have a dilemma... There is a gun range and a strip club nearby, both participating in the promotion. And I only have one AmEx card.

No thanks, the annual fee is more than $25. Sounds like a bad deal.

AmEx Blue Cash is what I use. No annual fees, 1% to 3% cash back, 0% APR for 12 months. But it took me a couple of years of building my credit to get qualified.

This one.

I have the Blue Cash preferred which doubles the rewards, costs $79 a year I think.

Go to the range then use the $25 towards a lap dance.

Dang, listen to all the AMEX complainers. As a VERY small business owner, they rock.

I need to dispute something, they come right in and take care of it. They pick up their phone line quick and they are customer service driven. Is that worth the annual fee? Yep but I don't pay it because it is factored in with my Costco membership which has saved me thousands over the years.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know about this. That will almost pay for dinner for me and my wife to watch the next UFC

No fees of any kind on my Amex Blue card.

There are many places nearby my home and work that participate.

Didn't think this thread would produce such venom.

Oh well, if you can take part in it, enjoy, and happy thanksgiving to all of Glock Talk!

I have the Amex Blue and it has no fees, but the problem I see has been mentioned before. A lot of local businesses don't take Amex. However I did a search for my zip code and a local gas station is on the list!

Venom? Because I said the annual fee for an AMEX card is more than $25? That's just what I've seen whenever I looked at them, but if they have a free card now that's great.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Did they delete some posts? I only see one person saying the annual fee is too high?

G. Walsh's posting does have that effect on threads. It's like finger nails across chalkboard.

Feelings are what you have in your fingers so you don't burn your jand on the stove.

In any case...I got the impression that the deal was mostly geared toward those that already have an AE card.

Applying for a whole new credit card that you don't need (and probably don't need appearing on your credit report as additional potential debt) just to get a $25 credit is not particularly bright in my view.

Thanks eruby for posting this, I just successfully enrolled my card.

You haven't been around here long enough.
You could have posted a deal where anyone could get a free, no strings attached, twenty dollar bill, and there would be some in here that would complain later if they instead recieved two tens.

You would be wise to never underestimate the potential for whining, complaining, and negativity in this forum.
