Gentlefolk,

This being my first Sig, I have a question about the decocker.

When decocked, the hammer is about a quarter-inch from the firing pin...kinda looks "half-cocked" ... This is the correct position?

When I dry fired, the hammer bounces off the firing pin and returns to its "half-cocked" position about a quarter-inch away from the firing pin...all this correct?

yes...it is in the safety intercept notch (IIRC)...you are good to go...

Your Sig isn't really "half-cocked"......... the hammer is at rest. It's not like a Glock that is partially cocked when a round is chambered.

Agree it is quite safe, but not sure how it can be called the safest, or any safer than an HK or Beretta, both of which have the addition of manual safeties.
