Sorry guys, the past month and a half has been hell. Put in an offer on a house, closed, moved and had to deal with a bunch of other stuff. Here's a bunch of pics:

For the time being, here's my Flickr gallery with higher resolution pics:

I'll probably move everything into an album or something (I just created that account), but if I do I'll make sure to update all the links.

I didn't call Glock. It is my understanding, judging by all the research I've done, that these guns were produced in very limited numbers in 1988, and before the end of the year were updated to the Gen 2 design, so it was less than one year of production. Like I mentioned before, all the numbers and proofmarks match, barrel, slide, frame serial numbers are all matching.

The other gun in the comparison pics is of course a 2nd gen G17, which happens to be my carry gun. And before anyone asks, yes the dremeled trigger guard did provide a discernible performance advantage to me. Still haven't stippled the rest of the gun, just undercut the trigger guard and added the memory groove, though I overdid the groove by probably ~1-2mm or so.

On the barrel, to the far right of the serial number, are the three small letters 'BTT'?

Yep, you're right Butch! It has BTT right there in front of the proof marks. What is that? That's actually the first I even noticed it.

That's a date code, it show's that it was made in April of 1988.

SigFiend - How about the story? That's going to be almost as good as the pics! Please tell us how you got it for $300 as a "used" Glock in some small gunshop!

I have lucked into a great deal that I need some info on. I bought a Gen 1 G-19, with the original box w/cartridge spacers, original paperwork package, including the intact warranty card (un-registered).the cleaning kit and loader...the pistol has a DN prefix with a 3 digit #, and is at least 99%...still has all golden colored internals...all numbers match.
I am trying to affix a fair market value on this piece...any info would be appreciated...I do not want to make it a "Safe Queen"...I need some help on pricing it for sale...Thanks

Welcome!

As you may have noticed above, pictures of all Gen1 G19's are mandatory!

I own a very early Gen 1 17 and a Very early Gen 2 19. They both originaly came with the rear sight that was adjustable and was extended past the slide. This gun does not have this. Why is that ?? Just an observation.

What to look for, when searching out a gen-1 Glock 19? I'd look for gold bars (the big 1-kilo-sized bars like in Ft. Knox); pixie dust; magic beans; and Alladin's lamp. Actually those last 3 would probably be easier to find than a genuine gen-1 G19...
