You should go rent one and put five hundred rounds through it, do that, then you'll have a realistic point of reference. If you can't afford to do that, then you can't afford it, period.

I ordered numerous parts for my USPs and Mark23 (thread protectors, sights, V2 conversion kit) from hkparts.net and had no problems and fast service.
They are cool in my opinion. They shoot better than a G21 in my opinion and are far more accurate when paired against the G21 when I take them out.
More expensive or not, they both are polys. But they are in two different leagues. Both are the best in their level. I just think Hk makes a better product.

+1 i love my glock model 30. i can hit bottles at 25 yards pretty easily and get tight groups. i also want a glock 21 (the large framed .45) but i like the 30 because i can still hit stuff, carry it, and the 21 only holding 3 more rounds than the 30 is kind of dissapointing considering the size difference.

Springfield XDm .45 compact. Holds 9+1 in compact form or 13+1 with the full length mag. Accurate, reliable and just overall well built.

For me the order would be; HK 45c, HK 45, Gen 4 G21m, and G30.

Hold onto your 9s and get a 45 too.
G30. G30SF. G30S
Anyone is awesome
I hate HKs oversize controls, hate the mag release location. hate the cost of parts, and hate that they are double the price of a G30.
The G30 has proved itself, its been noted that it shot 3/4" group at 25 yards. The G21 is a little over an inch group.
I don't think the HK can shoot better then that for double the price.

[Anyone have a PX4 in 45? I really think the 9mm PX4 I have is > my XD I own and Glocks I shoot.
In 45 I only have alloy and steel but have no adversion to poly 45s...

The XD/M platforms are nice, BUT the bore axis is higher than Mt. Everest and that makes double tapping a harder task with a 45acp
M&P platforms are wonderful, nice ergonomics and dependable (theres a model with a thumb safety too if im not mistaken)
Glocks are obviously proven, but they are pure function and offer little leeway for user comfort
My vote:
HK USP 45 Expert
FNH FNP/X 45

I've had several, XD45C, S&W M&p45C, Kahr PM45, then a G19 and now my carry gun is a Glock 36. Only had it a week, more compact than a G21 or 30 but may add a 30SF down the road. just depends what u want to do with it.

"considering clearing out the 9mm" What does that mean? ... anyway
My vote goes for a G30SF or Gen 4 if that's your thing. It's fairly lightweight, comfortable to shoot and wear, and really accurate. The ONLY thing I don't like about mine is the price of ammo!

If you reload, I would vote for the G37 or G38. Both are excellent pistols. I agree that the G37 is an extremely elegant handgun. All of the front slide serations, custom milling, and dodads that other manufacturers put on their pistols strike me as unnecessary and therefore pretty awkward.
That being said, I have been eyeing an M&P45. I like the feel of the M&P line better than the grip girth on the G21 or G30. I can shoot the G21 & G30 just fine, but I really dislike the feel of the grip on Glock's 45acp and 10mm pistols.
I think I'll wait until I can actually handle a Ruger SR45 before I purchase a new 45cal poly gun, though. I love the feel of Ruger's SR line, and the trigger pull on all of the ones I've handled and shot has been significantly better than out-of-the-box Glock or M&P triggers. Nice ergonomics, very low bore axis, and great sights.

HK45 or FNP 45 Tactical. I've handled and drooled over both. I had a G21SF and hated it. I gave it to my brother, who loves it. It just did not fit my hand at all. I couldn't shoot it worth a hoot. It's the only Glock I've ever shot that I didn't care for.
Personally, when it comes to 45s, I'll take a SIG P220 every time. Not polymer, but aluminum framed and definitely not overly-heavy or bulky. That's the only gun I own two of because I like it so much. Though I think an HK would give it a run for its money. I own a nice 1911 because every American man should, but I don't like the control system. DA/SA or striker fired for me. None of that "cocked and locked" nonsense.

The one poly .45 you must have?

I like the HK45 myself. The gun just feels like it was made for my hands.

They do for me to. Weather it's the gun or they way they fit me I don't know but they show better accuracy in my hands than any Glock I've ever had. That speaks for itself.

They do.
When it comes to polymer there is HK and there is everything else.
Hk is in a league of their own that so far no other polymer gun can touch. Weather it be because the other manufactures are unwilling to do so or they can't, they have absolutely nothing on HK.
