I have 2 gen4's; G17 & G26. G17 I bought first had no problems...Glock recalled RSA's and sent me another RSA (I sent old one back). I had no problems before and have had no problems since. Reliable, reliable, reliable. I liked the G17 soooo much I bought the G26. I hate to be redundent but...Reliable, reliable, reliable.

Gen4 G26.
Fired a few hundred rounds now....
After one stovepipe in the first 30 rounds...and a few brass to the top of the noggin....
It is all smooth sailing, no FTF/FTE, and ejecting brass where it should.
I have the 336 ejector....and will keep it!

Gen 4 Glock 19 starts with serial # SLY, test fired 2/14/2012
400 flawless rounds so far, and that includes a mix of different types (and weights) of JHP's and FMJ ammo. I'm not sure if it's a Gen4 thing or just it being my first 9mm in awhile, but this gun is super controlable, recoil is almost non-exsistent. Very accurate to boot !
Not to mention the changeable grip backstraps is a great feature.

With a Gen4 G17, I am experiencing this kind of problem.
Brass date is March 2011
With only 67rounds with it. Is this chipping of frame normal and should i expect it to chip more?

1. Which model(s) do you own? Gen 4 G23
2. Which fits your situation:
A. I have no problem with this handgun... Havent had any problems
3. Notes/comments regarding your situation and your thoughts on this issue. I think the problem was blown way out of proportion, I would trust any glock over any other pistol anyday anywhere

So far I have a Gen 4 G19 that I have had about 10 months and approximately 5000 flawless rounds through it. I just picked up a Gen 4 G37 and hope to get to the range with it this week. I plan on a Gen 4 G26 next followed by a Gen 4 G38 when they are released.
So far absolutely zero problems.

Ran 125 rounds through my G22 this past weekend. No problems at all. Brass landed in a nice litle pile at 3' oclock. Plan to get a 31 and 17 to keep it company.

Gen 4 G-23 with zero issues with roughly 4,500 rounds fired. Gen 4 G-27 with zero issues with roughly 6,000 rounds fired (but rusted after the first two weeks of concealed carry. )

I have a Gen 4 Glock 26. So far I have about 100-150 rounds through it without any ejection problems. I was at the range with my 26, 19 Gen 3 and 34 Gen 3. Out of 200 rounds rounds, I only had one case eject in my face and that was with the 34.

G19 Gen 4.
Less than 1 week old, approximately 200 rounds through with only 1 light primer strike. Otherwise runs great.

Not just gen4 but also previous generations. Glocks have always been thin in that area. Some frames show the metal, some don't.
Call glock and they will tell you the same thing. Normal. Does not affect the function of the pistol in anyway.

G26 1500+ rounds
G19 600 rounds
Zero issues and both are tac drivers, and that's with WWB & Federal Champion.

Glock 19, fired case dated 02/18/12, so it's a fresh one. It came with 30274 ejector and 0-4-3 RSA installed.

My impressions of the Glock 19 Gen 4 so far as compared to my Gen 3s (G19, G26, G30SF):
Pros:
- As reliable as my G19 Gen 3 (so far....), which was key for me.
- No issues with feeding or ejecting in 250 rounds, out of the box
- No erratic ejection. I did get one ejected case to the top of my head out of 250, but that was honestly due to me flexing my elbows during the shot. The same things happens to me with all my guns occasionally, including a few high-end 1911s.
- I really like the new grip shape (no extensions) and grip texturing
- The slide finish is a nice deep black, somewhat shiny. More similar to the Gen 3s I've seen than many of the Gen 4s I've seen, which have a flatter, almost brown-tinted finish.
Cons:
- The gun felt very stiff overall out of the box, much stiffer and less smooth than other new Glocks I've purchased in the past.
- The trigger pull is noticeably heavier than my Gen 3s. Almost like it has an NY-1 installed (it doesn't). My Gen 3 also had a lousy trigger, but not quite this heavy.
- The muzzle jump is noticeably reduced by the double spring RSA, but the recoil feels somewhat sharper than my Gen 3 G19. My Gen 3 G30SF also uses a double spring, but the recoil is softer (relative to the caliber), and the slide on the G30SF is noticeably easier to pull back. My hope is that this is part of the overall stiffness in feel of the new gun, and will loosen up with shooting. In fairness, my Gen 3 G30SF and G19 each have over 2,000 rounds through them, so it's not a direct comparison. I'm going by memory, with a more critical than usual perspective.
Too soon to tell on accuracy. I was just running ammo through it to break it in, paying attention to feel and recoil. Accuracy was roughly comparable to my Gen 3 G19. I don't shoot my G19 (Gen 3 or 4) nearly as well as my G30SF, it's a sweetie.
Maybe I got lucky, or maybe Glock has gotten the issues worked out of the Gen 4 G19s by this point.
