G19 gen4. About 500 rounds of cheap 115gr ammo through it so far. Zero problems. Fantastic gun. Evil shoulder angel keeps telling me to add a gen4 21. Probably will.

G19 Gen 4

Have had other glocks, none gen 4 and despite some bad pub bought a G19 Gen 4 it is now my fav glock I ever had. 9mm aren't bad recoil anyway but with the double spring almost nothing. Again I love the Gen 4 19, don't listen to the nay sayers, they most likely don't have one, just want to comment on something they have no idea about.

I've noticed that the 3rd gens seem to flip ejections up and the 4th gen was supposed to fix the flip more to the outside. I have by had any flips going up mine ejects strong to the right. I have noticed others with 3rd gens on my line with there own brass in the back of there shirt.

I've owned my G19 Gen 4 for a month and after 300 rounds, no problems. It shoots where I aim it very accurately. Couldn't ask for a better pistol.

Glock 22 Gen 4. Get a few ejections now and then down the shirt... But have 3 - 5 thousand rounds through it with 5 different brands of fmj. Believe I have the old ejector but not enough of an issue to do anything about it. No issues with any of the jhp I have practiced 180...165...135

Have had less than 5 stove pipes; 2 for myself that I can remember and my son a couple when he was not maintaining grip on rapid fire.

I would qualify as:

Glock 17 Gen 4 PMN prefix.

Glock armorer/sales rep fixed my gun.

Once updated to the correct spring and ejector, no more problems.

G19
about 1500 with 7-8 failure to ejects

installed new spring from Glock
0 failures, much better trajectory of brass ejection.

Gen 4 G21 here.
Still brand new, but have 200rds downrange with no problems of any sort.
Grip is nicer than my G20SF.
I really like the new trigger, also. Crisper, less "boink", if you know what I mean.

3. Notes/comments regarding your situation and your thoughts on this issue.

It's a pain in the ass but it's a great shooting gun so I will give it a chance. An armorer is looking at it and hopefully will have it fixed soon.
Handed the gun to an armorer and after a month of waiting (because parts never arrived in the mail) I finally sent it to Glock, Smyrna. I enclosed a letter explaining my problem and finally got it back a week ago. The invoice didn't give much explanation on the fixes but after talking to the glock rep he mentioned new recoil spring, trigger housing, ejector, and magazine followers were all upgraded. Now the gun is shooting perfectly although I did get 1-2 brass to the head. Still 98% better than before.

Need to mention when I bought the gun new it had all the new parts.

Took out the G26 Gen 4 today and shot 250 rounds through it without any problems. Used Walmart Federal ammo. Really enjoyed the gun.

Had a Gen 4 22 for about 9 months. Have put several thousand rounds of my own reloads through it, never shot anything else. I have not had one problem with this gun!

I have a Gen 4 19. The first time I took it out I had 3 Failure to Eject malfunctions in 200 rounds. Took it home and thoroughly cleaned and re-lubed it. Took it out again for another 200 rounds with various ammo and ZERO malfunctions. Ejections not in my face. Another 200 rounds and ZERO issues. Cleaned and re-lubed and another 300 rounds with ZERO issues. Various brands and weights of ammo have all been eaten up without prejudice.

Gen 4 ejection issues

6 weeks ago bought a gen 4 glock 23. Have shot ~ 400 rounds with gun. Ejections are with better quality ammo Gold dot still erratic. Meaning overhead. With cheaper load tulammo 180 gr fmj the bad ejects don't go over the head they hit you in the forehead, and dribble down inside glasses (thats a joy). You ever try digging out a hot round near your eye ball?
  • Contacted Glock they are send a new ejector tp my armorer
  • Tried the dave nowlin method of polishing on a stone the extractor top and bottom no effect
  • Did not try the extractor "shoulder reduction" - hey its a new gun.
So in summary 20% of ejections are 6:00 or where they should not be.

My theory is Dave Nowlin is on the right track, its a manufactoring flaw, when once the extractors were machined now they are made from castings and the tolerance is not tight enough. I did not to try and file further or smooth the extractor further until my ejector came in. Its been two weeks. I will let folks know if the ejector fixes the problem. Really stinks that a 600 dollar gun can't be quality checked - they must know what the issue is. I'll bet the ejector is a band-aid for the root problem - maybe on the slide or extractor as others online have suggested. It just smells. I think the new glocks have the band-aid new ejectors in place to fix the headshots
