A. I have no problem with this handgun
B. I have ejection problems with this handgun
C. I had ejection problems, Glock (or armorer) fixed it, and it now rocks.
D. I had ejection problems, Glock (or armorer) fixed them, but it still isn't right.
1. Gen4 G17 since summer of 2010
Had ejection problems-- casings bouncing off my head every now and then. Some FTE's with factory ammo with the original, unstamped/unlabelled recoil spring assembly.

My gun stays completely stock. With the latest recoil spring assembly and 30274 ejector, 3000 rounds later I have had absolutely no malfunctions and no casings bouncing off my head.

I have a bone stock 4th Gen G19. It hasn't had any FTFeed/FTE issues at all in the 500 rounds I have through it so far.

Ejection problems?

Last time I checked, I don't use flying brass to aim my pistol. I couldn't tell you which way it goes. I do manage to keep on hitting my target though.

That is really good to hear, because I am getting the new redesigned ejectors put on my Glock 19 Gen 4 and Glock 26 Gen 4. I hope that fixes my ejection and stovepipe problems.

Short answer: Generation 4 Glock 19...."D"

Long answer: Bought a new G19 last December, owned others years ago (17 and 23) with zero problems. I experienced brass to face. Called Glock and they sent me a new ejector. The new ejector helped, but hasn't completely eliminated ejection issues; brass still ejects erratically.

What ammo are you shooting?

The gen4 9mms don't like really low powered ammo such as federal champion and remington UMC. My gen4 19 will shoot it with no malfunctions, but the ejection is on the weak side with the occasional shell to the head. Once I step up in PF just a tiny bit, the pistol ejects perfect.

600 rounds so far, no malfunctions. It will be interesting to see if the ejection of the low powered ammo gets any stronger as the RSA wears more.

G23 with 200 rounds. NO prob. at all. Love the gun. Not fond of the new grip thou. To rough for me. Put a new pull over grip on and now I want to sleep with this gun. Gen 4 rocks.

So, if you are buying a Gen 4, all you need to know is a test fire date of 10/10/11 or later. If you search around, you can find the number for the upgraded ejector (32xxx something). I don't plan to buy a Gen 4 (not approved for sale in California) so I'm not going to search for the part number.

If you are buying a Gen 3 made some time after the SHOT show in 2010, you MIGHT have a problem. Nobody has nailed down the start date for the mods that caused this glitch. It's my understanding that Glock has FINALLY started fixing these guns but don't take my word for it. I don't know if they are actually shipping guns with the fixes incorporated.

AFAIK, these issues are only on 9mm guns. But, again, don't take my word for it. My late model Gen 3 G21SF works fine.

Richard

Great info. Thanks
