Real easy scope question...
Are Ruger factory rings return to zero if taken off? Could you possibly have 2 scopes for 1 gun and swap them out with out losing your place?

They do return close to zero, but not precisely.

I was thinking the same thing. Although I've not had my scope off my Ruger MKII rifle in years, it seems it was pretty darn close realignment......good enough for general hunting purposes, but probably not good enough for precision shooting.......
Are the Ruger rings made the same as they were 25 years ago? (That is where my perspective is.) I've had several of the Ruger MKII's in the past, but only have one anymore........

Hog, I can't say for the newest of the MKII line, the Hawkeye But I have a new MKII and its rings are identical to the 15+ yr old Ruger my father hunted with.
They return to within 1/2 an inch on my rifle. Not saying they will on someone else's but they do on the two Rugers I've owned.

Hmmm. For hunting purposes this may work. I got the 77/357 on layaway....3 more weeks! And I was hoping to run the 140gr. Leverevolution in it for deer and some Buff. Bore 180 gr. hard cast for hogs. I thought to maybe have a double scope set-up, but this is all just on paper. I need to see what shoots and what doesn't. I may even just get 1 type of ammo and use it alone. Again, just playing with ideas.
