Guide Rod Lasers?

Are these things any good? https://www.lasermax.com/Products/GuideRodLasers.aspx

and...
Does that mean one doesn't need to learn how to shoot?

Can't wait for a consensus. Last time this came up lots of people thought it wasn't much better than a toy for the cat to chase around. I like th idea, but it's a big investment for me to leave to chance.

I bought one for my g20 and g 29. Shot them both for the first time tonight. Very accurate right out of the box, but on both guns it would shut on/off by itself. Had read about this issue and was hoping i wouldnt have the problem. Not sure if they are keepers or not

They may be good although I'm not sure.

You will still need to learn how to shoot. I've seen many people with lasers that couldn't hit their target because their trigger control was terrible.

While I am sure there are some that do, I have never known a police officer to carry a duty gun with a laser but have known many to use one on their personal firearm, usually a Crimson Trace Laser Grip on a S&W 642 or baby Glock.

If I ever got such a thing it would be the laser guide since it adds nothing to the bulk. I suspect it may be some time before the bugs are worked out though.
