I love that show and it is easily one of the most underrated shows out there.

Favorite show by far! Love it, most of the events in the show are actual events i.e. the guy w/ shotgun shooting up the sector and female officer getting beat up by large male. Kinda cool...

I hope this show makes it. I also really loved "High Incident" but it got too Hollywood-y and got canned.

I can't get into the show, it does nothing for me. I turned it off after 20 minutes.

I like how Southland revolves largely around the patrol officers instead of just the detectives like a lot of police shows. It has it's moments but it seems a lot more realistic than other such shows too.

Although I love this show, I always find it funny that on every cop show you watch no one ever seems to work midnighters. Everyone seems to always work 0700 - 1500 hrs. It's kinda funny.

Southland is my revenge on my wife for making me watch American Idol with her.

I bet it has to do with the fact if they shoot it at night they have to pay the crew extra. Not to mention lighting become a problem.
What is really annoying is when the fictional cops don't seem to have a regular schedule. They are starting the shift at 0700 and they end it at 2300. Sure we do it from time to time but it is usually for very specific reasons.

Freakin' awsome!! Kickin it old school. Hot sheet on the dash. The report was probably only two sentences. Long live Rencko and Bobbie Hill!--WhiskeyT

That is what I was going to say... they can brief at 8-10am and work til what seems like midnight... but then again, LAPD does work 3/12 on patrol so they could be working 8-8 or whatever... and detectives can work 4/10 so maybe it all makes sense.
The one that is truly ridiculous is Cold Case with that super pale girl that shows them working until 10pm every night after running around all day.
