CCI Primers - What's up?

Hey all,

I was priming some brass today and started on a new tray. I'm using CCI 500 Small Pistol primers. All of the trays I've every seen have always been white. Well, the next tray is pink!? One pink tray, nine white trays in the box. I can only think of a few things that it could be:

1. I found the winning $1,000,000 primer tray and should call CCI to collect my prize.
2. It's CCI's way of supporting breast cancer awareness.
3. It's a notification tray for CCI techs to reload the cartridge (kind of like how paper receipt rolls are when you reach the end).

Has anybody ever seen this before?

Those are the U-238 primers ... Watch for a little over pressure ;-)

30% of the time those primers are going to be useless.

It's obviously a LP tray, odd.

It's part of CCI's new social diversification program. It seems that some guys really, really like powder-puff loads.

Zombie Steve knows all the details of the program.

Perhaps part of the proceeds from that sale of primers went to breast cancer research.

Maybe an oversears manufacturer ran out of white ones so they gave CCI the pink ones at a discounted cost, probably for birth control. lols

I think they're a special edition intended for the Pink Pistols.

My guess would be that the pink plastic is anti static, that is it will not hold a static charge of electricity/electrons. And I'm willing to bet CCI will go with all pink trays.
Just a guess.

I beg to differ.

My experience with things pink or more specifically things that like pink create quite a bit of static and are usually always charged up about something.

I haven't seen any pink trays yet, but I've been using CCI 500s for a while and have just started seeing trays where most of the primers have a shiny nickel plating, while a few, single digits per 100, have a very dull grey appearance.

I checked with our urban forester and he/she/it told me that the white plastic trees are dormant this time of year, but the pink plastic trees have just fruited.

Where do you think all those lawn flamingos come from each spring, anyway?

Just be careful using those pink trays... These primers are decent and pretty easy to handle for 3 weeks but there's always that 1 week that they are a complete b*tch to deal with and explode for no reason at all
