Tell me about waiting.
30 DAY waiting period between handgun purchases in the commie state of New Jersey. Day 31 for me is this Saturday.
No, it's not like I'm counting down or anything.

Are you aware how easy getting the WA concealed pistol permit is? No wait when you have one.

I stand corrected - it's not that easy for you - at least for a couple months. I bought my first Glock in Seattle before you were born. I still have it.

I remember growing up. I couldn’t wait to be a teenager. For some reason, I thought I made it with my 12th birthday, then I realized I had to wait another whole year. Aarrrgg.
Next came my 16th birthday so I could get my drivers licence. Thought it would never come, and had to fight my parents all the way cause they really didn’t want that day to come, but it did come, and I got my drivers license at 16.
Next was my 18th birthday so I could legally buy a pack of cigarettes. That took a long time, but along with that came the draft notice to appear for my physical at the height of Viet Nam. I forget my actual 18th birthday, but I remember the day I appeared for my physical for being drafted like it was yesterday.
Then, turning 21 took forever, but it finally came. I never really liked the taste of alcoholic beverages, so once I turned 21, the fun of sneaking into bars was gone.
Next landmark was 25 when my car insurance would go down. Took for ever, but I finally made it without any accidents. That day was 41 years ago, but I still remember those landmark birthdays. Today if I had to wait 10 days to pick up a handgun it wouldn’t bother me at all cause I know 10 days is nothing. With todays panic buying, you are probably lucky to even find a new G27. You’re lucky you only have to wait 5 days.

I have a Gen4 G27 on layaway. I'm just waiting to get the rest together so I can take my CCDW permit in, fill out the paperwork and be out the door.

Last January I bought 2 G32's and 1 G26 and walked out the door ten minutes later with all three, since then I have gotten 2 at one time and three at one time. I would lose my mind if I had to wait that long.

Bought my Gen 4 17 a few weeks back. I went in knowing what I wanted, walked out about 45 minutes later new pistol in hand. Would have been quicker if he wasn't dealing with other folks. Gotta love Kansas though!
I'd go nuts if we had that BS waiting period here.

But you can buy a pistol before you're 21?

Here in Maryland the background checks are backed up over 3 weeks. So I feel your pain, trust me. Paid and had paperwork faxed over on the 11th of the month... hoping I'll have the state police paperwork faxed back to the dealer next week

Owning one at 18 is not the same as buying one from a FFL.
I thought federal law was 18 for long guns and 21 for handguns thru a FFL at least.

you have to be 21 to buy a handgun from a dealer but you can buy one from a private party before your 21.

Most people don't realize that you can buy a handgun at age 18, but not from an FFL until they're 21.
