Genie,
Thanks - yes Bowie did the stipling. Didn't matter to me where the rear was - don't use it even if the Delta Point goes down. When milling the slide for the optic it's best to cut as far back on the slide as possible. Also can't get to the adjustments on the rear of the Delta Point is there's an iron sight behind it.

Access to the locking screws on rear apron can be achieved by boring two small holes through the rear sight. At least that's how I have been doing that with the rear BUIS.

Mark does top notch work guys. Had him RMR cut a LW slide, install sights and cerakote. EXCELLENT customer service, nice guy. Deal with confidence!

Beautiful precise RMR fit in the slide.
Cerakote turned out ok, a little thin in some places...after lots of holster drawing I see no issues yet.
He went outta his way for me.. His prices are great, and did I mention it barely took 10 days!

Could be the picture, but the sights look too low to co-witness. Like the red dot as close to my eyes as possible.

Shadow from crappy lighting doesn't help. Co witnesses perfectly.

Apologies for the late response:
The rear sight notch is open, unobstructed by the RMR.

If you have a consistent draw-punchout, and focus on your target... the dot just appears. It doesnt matter if the dot is centered, or co-witnessed. Where the dot is on the glass, the bullet goes. I do not see the iron sights when utilizing the RDS.

This is probably not the place (I think there is no correct place) to start a "Lets bash various suppliers of sighting systems based on whatever internet stuff we can Google up." discussion.

I agree, but your reference quote wasn't starting the "let's bash", it was asking for rationale behind the already existing bash.

Ok, you are correct, but nothing in this sort of more technically oriented thread (I haven't read every post from day one though).

But I don't think that there is a rationale in general.

I basically agree with you Mark, I just was pointing out the poster you quoted certainly didn't start the "derail" if you will. I would much rather learn about the OP topic as well.

I see the value of the milled slide with red dot. Since I work my gear hard, I need a rugged sight. The RMR seems to fit that task. I'll be sending in my slide within the next few weeks for the service. I do quite a bit of point shooting, and I look forward to running the RDS equipped slide.

I'm sure I'd be speaking for others too in saying I'd love to hear your feedback once you're up and running.

Has anyone carried one? I know the Red Dots are used in compititions but what about CCW?

I found one vendor but it was upwards of 2k with refinishing.

Suggestions? Pros? Cons?

Thanks as always.

Wow! (Gee, I'd do an installation for half that. Oh, If my price wasn't about 10% of that! )

+1 just change once a year.

They also sell complete Glock pistols now.

Any factory Glock slide can be milled and have a Trijicon RMR (or other RDS) installed exactly the same way.

Turnaround times vary depending on who is doing the work.
Mine are 7-10 days currently.
I am still waiting on my G34 to get finished. I think they were late getting a shipment of the 6.5 moa RMRs. I wish the supplier would hurry..... threads like these get me itching for mine!

Yes, the 6.5 MOA RMR's seem to be in short supply. I've been waiting for them with no ETA for a while now. ;-(

I've been running a RMR on my G19 for over a year (EDC). All I can say is, you've GOT to try it to really get it. Like an Eotec, Aimpoint, etc on an AR-15, the question becomes, why did it take me so long?
