I would be surprised if they come that far for a get together.

One more thing, if Lone Wolf isn't coming we can change the date to pretty much whenever. if attendance decides whether or not they come, i can post this on a couple of different forums i belong to which could drop the amount of admission unless more people= more rental fee but i will find all of that out hopefully next week as i'm planning a trip up to A&A.

The latest from Lone Wolf:

You said it'd be around 30 people? That's not enough to make it worth it to us to travel that far.. I haven't talked to the CEO about it just yet. I hope to today.

Let me talk with JR the CEO and see what he says before we get too far into it.

We'll see what happens.

I don't think $10-15 is too much for a range day and lunch. It sounds like lone wolf is too far away to make it worthwhile. It would be nice if they could supply some door/raffle prizes though. I like the idea of Glocktalk members and family only, but I'm not on other forums so I may be biased. Depending on how much room we have, some competitions could be fun. Maybe a good IDPA scenario, steel challenge stage, etc.

I haven't really put too much thought into competitions yet, but i was only thinking like "most hits out of 5 in the fastest time" or " best 5 shot score" or other stuff like that for prizes. we get (i think) an indoor pistol range all to us with renting, but all the other ranges will still be open to the public so we're kind of limited. maybe even some non shooting related stuff, i'm not sure yet, once i get a deffinate date and the range locked down, we can work on that stuff.

If every one is ok with it, i think i'm going to leave the fee at $10, that will get you lunch, and (depending what time you get there) 8 hours of range time. we'll have it from 8am -4pm.they have pistol, rifle, and trap(i'll make sure when i go there) you'll be entered for door prizes, and you can buy tickets for a 50/50 drawing.

There may be more depending on how many other companies donate and/or attend, i will keep you posted.

Found a review for A&A, sounds pretyy good:

Just checked the place out for the first time this weekend. It's a pretty awesome place to shoot and I'm happy as :-) to have found it. They have no website, luckily I read about them on a review site for Skeet shooters. They have almost everything a shooter can ask for.

They have a 25 yard pistol range with tires and barrels set out all around the range, so you can hang multiple targets to shoot at, or just shoot at the back dirt wall at 25 yds.

They have 100, 200 and 300 yard rifle and shotgun ranges as well. The 300 yard range is by appointment only. The 100 and 200 yard ranges also have huge rubber tires and big drum barrels set up at different distances so you have option of 30,40,50,60,70 and 80 yards as well as 100. Plenty of room for 8 shooters comfortably. When my buddy and I were there at 9:30 am we were the only ones at the 100 yard range, was awesome to have it to ourselves.

They also have skeet shooting, a range of animal targets to shoot at with your bows and even a paintball course in the woods. There is a Gun shop on site that sells pistols, rifles, shotguns and ammo for just about any caliber.

It's $10 per hour per person, which isn't too bad at all. I'm not sure how much cheaper it is if your a member, I forgot to ask, but I think I read that membership fee's were $100 a year.

I drive an hour to get there and it's well worth the drive to get access to such a great range. The owners are friendly and even offer coffee and cookies inside the clubhouse.

I highly recommend this range to anyone who's near it.

i understand if LW doesn't show - that's a long haul for them to make if they don't sell anything. maybe they could donate something for a door prize ??

also, $10-15 is not out the line for me.

lastly, i'll be coming in from port clinton . . . if there are others from the west side that want to infiltrate the 'NE ohio meet and greet', . . . let me know, maybe we can car-pool . . . . .

Grip Force is donating!

Mr. Orosz,

I have no problem donating some grip adapters for your event. When you have it finalized with the club, please contact me back and we can discuss what would help you out.

Thanks and Merry Christmas,

Frank

Depending on the date, I'll definitely be there.

I don't have a Glock (yet), though!

Thanks. Y'all are a generous bunch.

9mm (and .38-Special/.357 Mag) is all I have, handgun-wise.

As I've said to the OP (who has also generously offered me his Glock), I have a special place in my heart for Glocks: my first time shooting, ever, when I was a teen back in the early 90s was with my father's friend, whose 9mm Glock was his service weapon.

My issue with Glocks is the grip angle. I naturally point high, and while that's easy to compensate for at the range, I find that under-stress, I revert.

A fellow Ohioans for Concealed Carry member has offered to let me try his GripForce adapter-installed Glock at the range, and we're going to meet up, soon. I'm also looking into the LW Timberwolf frame conversion as well as grip reductions on factory frames.

Hopefully, by the time of the event, I'll be rockin' my own Glock.
