870lm / Ar15 mounting

Wasnt really sure what to put for the title. Anyways, I have a few AOW's (870lm, supershorty, and a remington witness protection 870} the question I have is retaining to the option to mount my 870lm under my AR similar to the way a M203 mounts. Now since I live in Michigan which is anti-SBR/SBS I heard that by mounting the LM to the AR would change its classification to an SBS since it then would have a butt stock. But I've also been told that since its just attached with thumb screws it doesn't change anything.

I guess in short can I attach my 870LM to my AR in a non-SBS state and remain legal?

Thanks for your time,

John

If an "AOW" shotgun is mounted to a rifle, it becomes an SBS.

So its best to leave my M203 on my AR then huh..lol. I read up on ATF Rul. 2011-4 but really wasn't sure if that applied to AOW's.

If that is legit, then it seems to be a definitive answer from ATF.
