17 or 19?
Hey all,
Minor dilemma. Since I am getting a can, I want a new host as well with Ameriglow suppressor sights. Question is, which Glock should I get to host all these goodies on??
I already have a 17,26,23,21sf, and 35.
I was thinking of getting another 17, just as a fun-gun/back up to my SHTF (aka winter carry gun).
Another part of me says to get the 19, since I don't have a generation 3 compact size Glock (the 23 is 2nd generation).
What say you??

I have threaded barrels for both and the Gemtech Tundra as well. If you need an excuse then go for it, can't have too many Glocks. On a side note, I use it on my Walter P99 as well.

FYI.
Palmetto State Armory currently has factory Glock threaded barrels for the 17, 19 & 21 in stock.

The 17 fits me better so it's a no brainer, but if the 19 fits you, it will fill a hole in your collection.

But, if you look at the idea of running sub-sonic ammo, you're only choices are .380 or .45. Since the G25 (i think it is) is not legal for import, than G21 falls in as the sub gun.
Also, would you want to switch the can for other guns? flop between a G17 to a G19 and back (not too sure on NFA-III laws, is the tax stamp on the can itself or the can/gun combo), if it isn't would you want to be able to switch can to 17 and 19 and back?

The stamp is for the can alone. You can buy a supressor and not even own a gun. (although as far as the NFA is concerned, a supressor IS a gun ).
147gr FMJ in 9mm is subsonic. It can be a little harder to find, however.
If it were me, I'd be slapping threaded barrels on everything and going crazy...but that's just me.

147gr ammo is easy to find on the Internet.
Not so easy at Walmart, etc.

True, 147gr is what I'm going to be shooting out of my Glock 9mm's. I'm just in a bind to either buy another 17 or go with a 19. Still a toss up.

If you already have 17's, go ahead and get a 19. You can always buy a threaded barrel for your 17's later.

I have G17, G19, G26. There are days when it is really hard to decide which gun to shoot.
Here are a couple things to think about.
If you are already setup to carry the G17, would you be able to carry with the same holster if you are carrying the G17 with threaded barrel? With the G19? With the G19 with threaded barrel?
