wow

loaded up 200 gr. JHP over 4.6 grains of 231 with an OAL of 1.080 for the G37. Went to the range and was very impressed. Accurate and low recoil, I shot this load much better than any of my 45 ACP pistols.

Would they care?

.45 GAP reloading stuff is likely to be more relevant to folks in this forum.

At what distance and with what sort of group size? Was there any difference between POA and POI?

I did some .45 GAP loads with 5.2 grains of W231 and Montana Gold 185 HP/200 FN bullets quite a while back. Velocities were in the 780 FPS range. Accuracy was decent, as I recall, but I've experienced consistently low POI at 25 yards when using light loads in .45 GAP.

I tested at 7 yds and found impact was at POA.

It isn't hard to find a load that is accurate at that distance. Try your load at 25 yards.

I was testing 255gr lswc reloads in my G37 yesterday. I put 47 rounds of this reload through the gun and it was very accurate. At 50 yards offhand shooting off-hand most rounds were hitting a one gallon milk jug set in front of the backstop. I didn't set out an actual paper target because it was raining and we were shooting from the porch which is 50 yards from an unprotected backstop. I hope to do some more testing for group size on official targets at 25 yards, next weekend.

The main stumbling block to better accuracy for me is my sights. I have a set of Glock factory night-sights on the 37. They suck for daylight shooting. Very little light gets past the sides of the front sight in the typical sight picture, and the dots are covered with a glossy clear plastic or epoxy. This makes the front sight less effective than a plain black blade. The standard plastic sights on my G38 are far superior for accurate shooting, in my opinion. If anyone has a good suggestion regarding decent non-night sights I would love to hear it. I'd get the steel Glock sights, but I dislike staked-on front sights. If anyone wants to trade a set of non-night sights for a set of fairly bright Glock factory night sights, let me know.

By the way, at 50 yards the G37 was equaling my G20 for accuracy, at least with the 255gr loads. I was averaging the same hit ration on milk jugs both guns. The G20 has metal factory sights and is easier to sight in, but still doesn't beat the 37. I love 45 gap.
