G27 magazine question
Just picked up a used G27, it came with 2 standard size mags. I picked up a .40 caliber high capacity mag at the gun show yesterday. I bought the mag to use as a back up since it sticks out beyond the frame.
At the range the last round from the high capacity mag FTF, it only exits about 1/4" from the mag. I suspect the mag spring is weak since it doesn't take as much force to compress the follower as it takes to compress the smaller mag.
I noticed that the shape of the followers is different between the hi capacity mag and the standard capacity mags? The follower on the high capacity mag has a "5" engraved on the top, the standard capacity follower has an "8" engraved on the top. I'll attach a photo.
Do I need to change the follower too?

The followers have been evolving for years. An "8" follower is current issue.
Magazines with a 1,2,3,4,5 can only upgrade to a 5.
Magazines with a 6,7,8 can only upgrade to an 8.

That's interesting about the followers.
So, should I be looking for a spring for a 15 round magazine?
Thanks!

I'm not clear what model mag I bought. Is it the standard mag from a model 22?

The mag in the pic is a G22 mag (15 rds).
I thought you were looking to replace the spring?

I replaced the magazine spring with a Wolff Extra Power and now the last round will feed properly. I'm glad I don't have to fool with different style of followers!
