What would you be doing, if you lived in Syria, right now?

For the sake of the thread, you live in the residence you live in now, with the stuff you have now. Except, it's in Syria. It is possible (probable?) the US/France and/or other entities will be bombing areas near you.

What's your plan?

Sure, you could skip work for a day, or two, but you can't stay hidden in the basement until it all blows over.

Move to Kansas, go on food stamps, get an Obama phone, sign up for free medical care.

Skip work for a day or two???? Just what, exactly do you think is going on over there?

Unless I was in a position to fight, I'd try to get my hands on some of that half a billion dollars the US has sent in aid in a refugee area.

Only two reasonable responses:

a) Get the eff out any way I could ASAP

b) Lock and load - there is a time to fight. When .Gov starts dropping Sarin on me, it's a little past that time

Refugee area is just an easy target to use nerve gas on all your enemies at once.

I'd worry more about being gassed by Syria than by being bombed by the US.

Don't know enough about the specifics to answer. For example, leaving might be the most desirable; however perhaps there are roaming gangs that make it too risky.

I and my family could be gassed by my government (Syria) or the rebels (not sure who did the gassing) or when the US bombs the areas where the chemicals are, we could be gassed due to the spreading caused by the explosions. Of course this all depends upon where we are in Syria and other geographical variables.

Thank you for posting that question. My belief is that the Rebels screwed up and blew up a cache of gas they had. Idiots.

One may not like Assad but he is no fool.

Historically speaking, this isn't generally how it happens, unless its a genocidal purge of a nationality/race/etc.

Your best bet, is to either A. GTFO of dodge, out of the citys and where the fighting is taking place, or B. Side with one of the factions.

This situation, by the way...It would high up on my "Bug Out" response list. It wouldn't actually be a situation on the list - but if it happened, it would quickly get placed there as the proper response.

I'm usually a fan of Bug In...but when my own country is Nerve agenting me, time to go. PAst time to go actually...

Nothing good is happening in that war zone. Arm up and get out by any means.

From what I've seen in the other rebellions in the middle east (Eygpt, Lebanon, Libya etc) the war ebbs and flows in and out of areas. The people who are actively fighting hunker down or bug out then come out or back when the fighting shifts somewhere else. This may happen numerous times. Some get caught in the cross fire, some don't. From most of the accounts I've read, most people go about their daily business the best way they can and only stay home from work if the fighting gets really bad in their particular area.

Trying to get out as fast as I could. If that wasn't doable I would bug out away from the fighting. If that wasn't doable. Join the side that I felt was going to do the best for the people.
