Beltman Belt Question

I currently have a Beltman horsehide belt in brown. I have had it for around four years. I was thinking about picking up one of the quick ship belts in black. Is there anyone who owns both a horsehide and bullhide belt from the Beltman that can compare the stiffness between the two? I normally carry a G26 IWB. What are most people going with when ordering a belt from him?

I can't compare the 2 -- I only have a bullhide -- but my 1.5" bullhide (no stiffener) is plenty stiff for me to comfortably carry the G26, G19, or 4" Kimber Pro Carry II.

ETA: These are carried in an MTAC or VMII.

I have six Beltman belts of various configurations (I also have a Wilderness CSM I like for khakis and jeans). For a G26 IWB, an unreinforced, 1.5" bullhide will be fine. However, it's not quite perfect for an OWB G30. So, if you know you will always carry subcompacts IWB, you don't need reinforcement. But,if you want one belt to handle any possibility, always get reinforced. Horse is stiffer when new but breaks in just like cowhide leather. If you want greater weight carrying capacity, get reinforced for function, a different leather if it makes you feel good. Jim's horse belts are nice and worth the modest premium if you prefer it over bullhide. But don't buy horse expecting it to carry as much as a reinforced belt.

Totally agree. I have a brown one and a black one. They're all I need for my G26 IWB.

I do occasionally carry the 26 or a 19 OWB so I may look at the reinforced option. I was just thinking about the quick ship option because I wouldn't have to wait for it. Thanks for the advise.

for a G26 any beltman belt will suffice
