Anyone ever use BD with 135gr?

I pulled some Sierra 135gr JHP, but I'm out of PP. All I have on hand is BD, but I can't find any info for 135gr. I know it's not the optimal powder for 135gr, but has anyone ever loaded it or know an approximate max? I just want to blow some water jugs up so it doesn't have to be nuclear.

Speer shows 12.0 grains for the 155gr GD @ 1291fps.

I have some data showing 135 gr using 12.5 gr but no velocity info.

Sierra's 4th edition shows a max load of 12.2 gr BD for 1250fps (1.250" OAL) from a 5" Colt Delta Elite, for a paltry 469ft-lbs. Sierra's data for 10mm Auto is so weak across all bullet weights (no published load exceeds 528ft-lbs), I never refer to it anymore, but I thought it might give you another data point for your load-up. BD might actually be a good powder choice for the 135, since it's a little faster than 800-X and Longshot. My experience with it is that it continues to build pressure as you increase powder, so do pay attention. And you will be better off using standard primers, such as CCI#300. Magnum primers and BD don't seem to be a good combo.

BTW, the max listed for 135gr. in the 4th edition of Sierra's manual for any powder is 1300fps. Lame indeed.

I'm guessing max would be around 14gn, but that's a wild guess. I know Hornady's max for 155gn bullets is 12.9gn Blue Dot. That's at 1450fps. I don't know if you will be able to fit enough in the case to get them any faster than 1450fps. I see 800-X in your future!

I went conservative and loaded 135gr Sierras with 12.5gr BD because I have a feeling they will explode no matter what. 800-X is most definitely in my future. I'm going to get some PP and 800-X later this week.

Hell, the Corbon factory loads I pulled these from listed 1400fps on the box. I highly doubt it. Carrier will have to check a few with his chrono next week when it comes in.

Good info fellas. I'm going to pull some more and work up. 12.5gr blew up quite nicely in the jug, but I want to crank it up especially for Carrier's chrono!
