smith and wesson 15-22

Has any one ever tried to change out the flash supp. on one of these. And do they make a special tool to release the barrel nut on the pistol?

bare minimum, you need barrel blocks, a vice, and a 19mm wrench. If you cannot properly brace the weapon to inscrew the flash suppressor, you will mess up the receiver. My suggestion, take it to a smith that knows what he's doing.

You can purchase one:

Or make one:

Hope this helps

Only thing is that the Brownells tool says you need to remove the flash suppressor in order to slide the thing over the barrel and under the handguard. I would suggest a good gunsmith.
