More Barnes TAC-XP all-copper bullets, this time .45s

These Barnes TAC-XP all-copper bullets are 160g. .451s, loaded to about 1100FPS (at 10') and shot in my Glock 37. As usual, I shot these into a string of 1-gallon waterjugs from 10 feet. No bullet penetrated into the 4th jug. The LH and center bullets passed thru 4 layers of denim taped onto the 1st jug; the 3rd was 'bare'.
Reloading

Retained weight for EACH bullet was 160g. (rounded to the nearest whole number) for a retention of 100%!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm impressed even more now--see http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/show....php?t=1356994
...for my results with my 357SIG. Last nite the 125s became my PD bullet for my carrygun; today these .45-cal. 160s became my PD bullet for my 45GAP.

What load did you use? I want to load my first box using WW231 but cannot find a load for it. Well, actually I did find a load on one web site, they gave all the info but the powder charge, for that privilege they wanted $29.95.....

Jeffery, I'm the guy that was talking to you in the 10 Ring about loading my G29 with 125gr Barnes TAC-XPs. If you remember, I was unable to get past 1300fps with Barnes's data. I found a good load. With new Starline brass, CCI 300s, 125gr TAC-XPs, 11.4gr 800-X, and a COAL of 1.260", I got an average of 1459fps. That's great. Plus, I think I can go further, IF more powder will fit. The load is pretty compressed. However, case head expansion is very light, so if the powder will fit, I'll push further. I'm just out of bullets right now. I thought you might be interested.

...I settled on SR4756, and for my 357SIG, too.

92869, my final post on these bullets and the finished load is here...

That is a beautiful thing, I'm going to have to try some of those
in my G21 and G30. Many thanks for posting.
