A rant on CMC and Wilson mags

Seriously, with the money that you pay for these mags, the manufacturers don't even have the decency to mark the mags with calibers?

I don't know about you guys, but the freakin' 10mm/.38 Super/9mm mags all look alike and without caliber markings how the hell are you suppose to tell the differences?

I keep having to remark mine all the time because even the permanent markers' ink would rub off.

I just spray paint the bases different colors. You could always mark the base with a dremel tool.

My biggest gripe with the Wilson mags is the plastic followers wear out and won't push up the slide stop. Doesn't happen with steel followers. I really like the McCormicks.

You keep tellin yourself smaller is better!

I only but Tripp mags.......

As for marking them, I use a label maker, then edge seal the decal

Solder Iron on base bad would work. You could use dot system so it is more discreet. (ie 1 dot is 10mm, 2 dots is 38 , and 3 dots is 9.)

There are ways around it, but it's a pain in the ass not to mention you pay that much for a mag and they don't have the decency to stamp the caliber on it.

CMC are great mags, all my 1911's are .45, but I get your point, they should stamp the caliber on their mags!

I do have them in 10mm and .38 Super.

I wish that they'd make some for the 9mm compact.

My Tripp Cobra mags have 45ACP engraved on the side...pretty sure my Dan Wesson 10mm Checkmate mags do, too. Come to think of it, my Colt Delta mags have 10mm on the bases.

I agree, though. My WC 10 mags aren't marked.
