Will definitely be looking at the KX3, thanks for the info.
Makes sense.

I may have to register my lower one of these days. Just for the hell of it.

We are issued Smith and Wesson M&P 15s. If we want to have lights or optics, then we have to provide our own:

Ruger SR-556 Piston

Tactical Link 1 point sling, EOTech optic, Magpul vertical grip and B.A.D. Lever, Streamlight, and Mag Coupler

I may have to bite the bullet and do my own with a DD cold hammerforged steel pencil barrel. Will a 7 inch/9 inch TRX combo yield the same "look" and barrel coverage as your example on page three. I would esentially want it to go from TRX (or for me, VTAC) straight to a KX3.

I tried the velcro at first, but after it got hot it stopped sticking to the handguards reliably. I left the velcro there and just added the innertube over it to make sure it doesn't move.

I wouldn't use electrical tape only b/c of the sticky mess it can become after awhile...

If you have rails on your rifle how do you reccomend mounting the switch? I have rail covers on it now so I suppose just place it over the rail covers?

You can do that, or there are a couple of companies that make rail covers that will take the pressure switch. Might require a mis-matched section of rail. I have also seen them attached with a piece of the double stick stuff a lot of them come with and then a couple of very small cable times through the holes in the rail. No idea how that works out long term, though.

You are on my wife's **** list at the moment.

Thanks to your inspiration, I just ordered up some components from Rainier Arms.

Another DD upper.
Noveske 7.5" barrel
Noveske KX3 firepig
TRX Extreme M7 (7.6 inch rail)
BCM Gunfighter CH
LMT FA BCG
DD fixed battle sights.

Gotta think about what optic to go with. I'm a die hard EOTech guy, but I've been thinking about trying an Aimpoint Micro.

Would have to be a cowitness with these sights I ordered.

The LMT was heavy. I only sell stuff if I'm bored with it.

Finally made a photo of my patrol rifle and I'm done with it for now. Or until I get more money because I would like some optics.

Its a Bushmaster XM2 formerly with a fixed A2 style stock. Now it has Troy Industries drop in battle rail with surefire scout led m600, Knights armament rail covers, Vtac 2 padded sling, Vltor Imod with qd swivel.

What about an EoTech 552? (and I might be trying to unload a mint condition, never used model circa 2008)

Actually, I meant to type lower 1/3...... I think the medium mount would give a true cowitness in the middle of the optic

I've never had to zero with a co-witness before. Should be interesting.
