Picked up another Colt.
Found this at my favorite local shop yesterday, since I have a huge weakness for older Colt's I brought it home. It's a early 80's Nickel 70 Series.

I wonder why the thumb safety is black. Did they ever come that way?
It looks very clean and in perfect condition.
What's it look like inside?
(What did you pay for it?)

I don't know what they heck you're jumping in here for GS. You're little chic car Z4 is 10k times more feminine than my DSLR bag. Was the dealership fresh out of VW New Beetles?

That's right and women love it. and they had beetles but were out of pink convertibles so I settled for the Z4

Not that is a 1911 that did NOT get beaten with a big old ugly stick.

It came with the original thumb safety but it was really hard to move. The only extra I had laying around was from my SA GI, it works great now.
It's very clean but does have some wear and a few minor scuffs. The inside looks really good. Someone has gotten rid of the collett bushing and the grips and screws aren't original. It should make a good shooter. I paid $600 for it, not a smoking deal but I thought it was fair.

I have the correct one but it won't move right. The black is a temp until I can find one that matches. I'm going to replace the grips with something closer to original. I like wood on my older Colt's.
