I just went ahead and order these, couldn't beat $89.24.

We'll see how that work out and I'll try to report back.

I like the look of the Bates side zips, not the Dura-shocks but the other ones. Forgot the name. Too bad I still got like 3 pairs of boots from our issue that I haven't even worn yet.

I just don't want everyone to think i'm completely negative on them. Silverado likes them and thinks they are comfortable. I'm sure some others think so to. Just wanted to say the waterproofing works.

Sorry about reviving an old thread. Does anybody have any experience with getting a LE/MIL discount from Danner? I'm currently browsing Danner through AAFES and the prices are kind of a let down right now. Please, can somebody advise?

I wore Converse 8" SZ boots when I worked as a hospital tech and out on an ambulance. The pair I'm wearing I've had for close to 2 years of hard work, and other than scuffed up (since I never bother polishing them) they are in great shape still

Oakley. Best boots I've had yet. Converse is a close second. Danners made my feet hurt so bad that it would take most of a three-day weekend to where they were ready to go back to work.

I would like to hear this, too. I have read that you have to call for the discount, and I have no excuse (other than laziness) for not calling myself, but I figure it's worth asking...

Has anyone tried the new UnderArmour boots yet? I've been wearing their tennis shoes for two years and absolutely love them...by far the most comfortable pair of shoes for everyday wear I've ever owned. I'm hoping the boots are the same! Can anyone advise?

Can't say i'm in pressed they seem a little big for my feet, even though I ordered the same size boots as what I was currently wearing.

If you are inside on concrete all day, I would point you toward an athletic shoe base.

Converse.

Adidas.

Oakley SI.

I'm looking for any suggestions you guy's may have. My Dad wears Altama Jungle boots and really likes, but I'm not sure if I want to immediately buy a pair because they work for him.

I'm looking in the $100-200 price range. I'd like them to be comfortable and able to accept my orthopedic insoles. No other real limitations besides that.
are you not allowed to wear tennis shoes? i got a pair of all black asics and probably will never wear boots again

About a dozen guys at my work have them. They like them a lot. They say their Military and Civi boot size runs true with them.

I am holding off till I can try some pairs on as I run between a 9 1/2 and 10 1/2 based on brand (My feet are between reg and wide, and I have a high instep). I was about to get some size 10 and decided I would wait.

Rocky S2V, Oakely Assault, and the UA boots are next on my list.

Cav, thanks. I've got a pair of Rockys now that are super comfortable so I'll wear these until they are worn out then check out the Under Armour boots. I wore a pair of Oakley SI Assault Boots for a year or so...they held up nicely until I worked in a rainstorm. Feet didn't stay dry so they got pitched to Goodwill the next day. Like I said, I love underarmour and if anyone is looking for a pair of nice training shoes, try their shoes.

You do have to call for the discount. You have to have a .mil, .us, or .gov email address though. My primary one is a .org so I couldn't do it. They have since added a .us and .gov email address and I just haven't called them back yet.
