Why is the Gold Dot LE some much cheaper than regular GoldDots?

The gold dot Law Enforcement is 30/50 and the regular gold dots 25/20 http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/produc...low-point-ammo

To rephrase your question, why is the retail box (20) of Gold Dots so much more expensive than exactly the same thing in LE (50)? Because it's the retail version and they jack up the price accordingly. Buy the LE box and save yourself some major coin. The ammo is the same.

Never, ever, buy the 20 round boxes unless it's an emergency! If everyone would just stop buying them maybe they would go away.

The catch is, "everybody" doesn't think to search for the best per round price and ends up jumping at the chance to secure good self-defense ammo at inflated per round prices.

I was a sucker when I bought my first pistol in 2005. But I was also a quick learner and soon I was regularly scouring the Internet ammo dealers for bargains.

LE (state and local gov'ts) and the Fed gov't doesn't pay the excise tax that consumers must pay. This doesn't account for the entire difference though. The rest results from more middlemen and higher margins on consumer ammo.

As the others have said, whenever possible buy the 50 round LE marked boxes via mail order and leave the overpriced 20 round boxes on the shelf.
